Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair (TMVR)

TRANSCATHETER MITRAL VALVE REPAIR (TMVr) IS A MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURE

The MitraClip procedure is a minimally invasive, catheter-based procedure to repair a leaking mitral valve. This minimally invasive procedure allows patient to avoid open heart surgery. It is performed by Dr Marok using venous access and real-time imaging of the heart (echocardiography and fluoroscopy). The MitraClip device grasps the mitral valve leaflets, resulting in approximation of the mitral leaflets and reducing the amount of blood regurgitation. This helps with symptoms of congestive heart failure.
